About Ms. Batson

My name is Nadia Batson and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year. Kindergarten is a wonderful year full of amazing growth and progress, both socially, emotionally, and academically. I love watching the children blossom into wonderful readers and writers!

This is my third year teaching at OBE. I was once a student here and am definitely glad to be back "at home"! OBE is most definitely the BEST place to be! I will be marrying my wonderful fiance, Michael Colin, in December. I will become Mrs. Colin but will still go by Ms. Batson for the remainder of the school year. I have two fur babies, Ollie and Hershey, who are rescue dogs. Ollie is a chocolate lab mix and Hershey is a beagle/bassett mix. They are mischevious little boys and are always up to something! When I am not at school or working on things for our classroom, I enjoy DIY projects, crafting, reading, going to the beach, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

My goal is to build responsiblity and independence in my students. I find children learn best in small groups. We will usually be working in groups during literacy, math, and writing time. This helps me tailor my instruction to best meet each child's individual needs.
